University Advice

The general goal of the University Advising department at the Modern Montessori School is to prepare students for university regarding career and subject choices. Teaching students how to research for university requirements is key to them learning how to make informed decisions.

We have tried to reverse the career choosing process whereby in the past students would have chosen subjects in the IB programme and tried to figure out what career suits these subjects. Now, guidance is given to students starting from grade 9 telling them more about different careers and what general university requirements there are. Career Days have been most successful giving students the chance to see for themselves the reality of different professions.

The University Advising department has also coordinated with other departments to ensure that topics taken in class correspond to those necessary to ensure success at entrance requirement examinations such as the SAT I and the TOEFL.
